對大學之設計學生而言,想像思考之發展將影響設計創作表現;而激發學生之想像思考,則是設計教育者亟思努力之目標。我國一般大學與技職大學學生在設計時之想像思考之成形、過程與成果確實存在差異,而學生自身、教學環境、教師之教學方式與評量偏好皆有可能造成此差異,故本研究之目的即為探究我國一般與技職大學設計科系學生在創作設計時想像思考之展現、影響與差異。依據國內外現有文獻,本研究選取涉及想像力與想像思考有關之因素,發展「學生特質自我評量表」並輔以「提升設計想像思考輔助教材」與「教師評量表」等進行教學實驗,以此探討一般與技職大學設計科系學生於設計歷程中影響想像思考之各項因素與差異,並驗證該輔助教材之使用成效

。經過分析各項資料,本次教學實驗得到下列結果:(1)一般大學學生有較多調適型學習型態,而技職大學學生則有較多收斂型學習型態;(2)在設計想像思考時,一般大學學生有著比技職大學學生高之自信展現;(3)技職大學學生於當前學習環境之滿意程度普遍高於一般大學學生;(4)輔助教材在不同教學環境與課題皆可協助學生進行設計想像思考,同時亦發現教師教普遍偏好蒐集資料較為多元之學生,而學生繪製概念草圖之數量則不會影響教師評量。
